Over a period of 2 years, Elsa Quarsell has travelled around the world photographing burlesque performers in their homes. This collection of photos captures the humorous and beautiful world of burlesque.
The book contains over 100 portraits of performers as well as an intimate glimpse into their homes, complete with trinkets and memorabilia. Each portrait is accompanied by an interview with the performer, making 'The Domestic Burlesque' an important insight into the creative motivation and emotion behind the burlesque scene of the early 21st century.

Elsa Quarsell is a Swedish photographer who has been based in London since 1999. She graduated from The Surrey Institute of Art & Design in 2003 with a BA (Hons) and a portfolio that won her the Metro Imaging student bursary. She immediately began to make a name for herself on the London photography scene and her work has appeared in numerous publications including The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Independent, Arena, Vogue and The Face.
