be joined by Southern Sam and Niamh Lynch for more top notch Rhythm
& Blues and 60's Soul.

Delta Blues legend David Honeyboy Edwards returns for a UK tour at the end of September. Honeyboy Edwards, at age 94, and his close friend, Pinetop Perkins (age 96) are the oldest and arguably, the last Delta blues players still touring. Edwards was a friend to the legendary musician Robert Johnson and claims he was present on the fateful night Johnson drank the poisoned whiskey that took his life.

According to Charlie Rich, San Francisco is a lonely town. Now we don't know about that, but what we do know is that the new and interesting group Nick Rossi Trio will start their monthly residence at the Coda jazz club in the Mission this Wednesday, the 26th of August.
You might know Nick Rossi as the Hammond organ maestro of the Nick Rossi Set. These days he's back on the guitar, and has formed a trio with Hammond organist Eli Sundelson and drummer Ben Wayne. Fans of the NRS will appreciate that the trio treads similar soul-jazz territory, but in the classic organ trio format with some new influences and surprises.
Basics. That's what we like over here. No fancy schmancy stuff, no non-sense. Up in Edinburgh Scotland, the dapper duo DundeeDavie Hudson and Kevin Conn are running a club that does what it says on the tin. Playing the best in 50's and 60's r'n'b with quality Northern Soul. And it's called Basics. Nice. If you can, check out the club this Saturday. £5 entry, with a free cd to the first 30 punters.
