A great compilation cd that simply is what it says on the tin. One, if not the, longest running club nights in the world, The 6Ts Rhythm and Soul Society, give away a free 45 at their anniversary nights, and here you have them all collected in a nice little package.
The 6Ts Rhythm and Soul Society was formed in August 1979 by Randy Cozens and Ady Croasdell. The first dance was held in a function room called Henri's at the Bedford Head pub in Maiden Lane, Covent Garden in London's West End. They then moved around London a bit before settling at the 100 Club in London's Oxford Street where the now semi-legendary allnighters started in 1981.
Yearly from 1986, strictly limited pressings of approximately 400 vinyl 45s have been given out at the September anniversary dances. Mostly unissued titles taken from master tapes, they have been an eagerly awaited event on the Northern Soul scene ever since. This compilation brings all the A-sides together on CD for the first time and includes the very first issued in 1984. The singles became instant collectors items, with the first copy on eBay hitting the £50 plus mark immediately. Some are so in-demand that a three-figure price tag is not unknown.
