Edwin is quality stuff. Now they have made a version of their classic Nashville jeans, for the ladies. The ladies cut has slightly lower rise and and slimmer leg but everything else the original Nashville has.

All 54 tracks on these two CDs were recorded over a 13 month period in Bo’s basement studio and delivered to Chess. Many went on to be the crux of such classic Diddley albums as In The Spotlight, Bo Diddley Is A Gunslinger, and Bo Diddley Is A Lover, and included such key Bo tracks as “Ride On Josephine,” “Live My Life,” and the title track to Gunslinger. 17 others are previously unreleased, while many others are simply rare.

It is 2009 and there are still lots of never before issued recordings laying about. You'd think that all the cd box sets and whathaveyou would have made just about everything finally available by now. There are still surprises coming out though, like this promising cd by Ace Records, out on Monday July the 27th.
Bobby Freeman recorded for King during 1960 and 1961. At the time, only one 45 was released. Later, when Freeman was successful at Autumn Records, King did release a few more. Give My Heart A Break contains the complete King recordings. 16 songs, many of them never released before. And the ones that were released are here available un-edited and thus running longer than the original release.

Cadillac Records is Hollywood's take on the Chess label, created just after the Second World War in Chicago by Leonard Chess (Adrien Brody), the son of Polish immigrants, to promote young black performers, primarily from the South of the US. That means a host of blues and soul icons being taken off by modern-day actors and performers - including Muddy Waters (Jeffrey Wright), Howlin' Wolf (Eamonn Walker), Chuck Berry (Mos Def) and Etta James (Beyoncé Knowles).

Yes, Bear Family does it again. Sun Records producer Sam Phillips said, 'Billy Emerson wrote such great songs. He was one of the very best.' People who've never heard of Billy Emerson have probably heard his best songs. 'Red Hot' has been recorded by no less discerning disciples than Billy Lee Riley, Ronnie Hawkins, Bob Luman, Sam The Sham and Robert Gordon. Emerson also wrote 'When It Rains It Pours', best known through Elvis Presley's version. Then there's the iconic 'Every Woman I Know (Crazy 'Bout Automobiles)'.
